Meet Us – Ben
Ben Brown
Student Intern
Hi! Do you feel lost, unmotivated, or not like “yourself”? Is it difficult to find the time and energy to process your experiences and feelings? I’m here to support you with compassionate, trauma-informed care to create a safe, affirming “brave space” where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, work through challenges, and build the life you want to live. I would love to collaborate with you to develop effective strategies and techniques tailored to your unique outlook, desires, and needs.
I’m here to meet you where you’re at. My approach to therapy is my approach to life: grounded in mindfulness, existential awareness, and radical empathy. I work with all ages, especially adolescents, young adults, neurodivergent individuals, and LGBTQIA+ folx facing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stress management, feelings of isolation, hopelessness, grief, and navigating issues of identity.
As a non-binary and neurodivergent therapist, I am committed to providing gender-affirming care and creating an inclusive and affirming space for all identities and sexual orientations. It’s not easy to face your fears or experiences alone; together, you will gain new tools and strategies to approach life with a clear perspective, greater confidence, and authentic self-acceptance. Let’s start today!
Why I Chose to Become a Therapist
Life is too short to simply visit this world; together, we can change it. In a phrase, I became a therapist because — to quote Sylvia Plath — “I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.” Since before I can remember, I have always felt a deep and intuitive pull toward healing and transformation. The people I’ve met along my journey have taught and inspired me to be curious, compassionate, and authentic. Day by day, moment by moment, I strive to find and cultivate ways of living that alleviates suffering in our lives and brings us closer to a life worth living.
