Meet Us – Sheryl
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
My passion is to help people and I do this through a holistic approach in counseling sessions. I enjoy guiding my clients through their challenges whether it be eating disorders, substance abuse, interpersonal relationship issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions and more.
I enjoy meeting with my clients and strive to create a warm, compassionate environment. When working with my clients, my goal is to develop a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship to enable growth and change. I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have over twenty years of counseling experience in various settings from inpatient to outpatient treatment programs.
I feel it is very important to meet clients where they are at and to assist them to learn to accept the challenges they are facing, to become happier. I believe working as a therapist is an honor and a privilege. It is extremely rewarding to be a part of that process to empower clients to change.
Why I Chose to Be A Therapist
When I chose this field I thought it would be a good fit because I could help people. Over the past 25-plus years of practicing, I have realized the field chose me. My journey has been so rich and I am so thankful to be in a position where people trust me to help them through the vast variety of life’s issues. I feel this profession is an honor and a privilege.
